Dover Counselling Centre (DCC) was formed in 1988 taking over in title from the Herald Assistant unit, a service set up by Kent County Council following the Herald of Free Enterprise Disaster in 1987.

For nearly thirty years DCC has provided a professional counselling service in a safe, peaceful and calm environment. A service we know has a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of its service users.

Our ethos is that counselling should be available to anyone who wants or needs it. We promote and embrace diversity, equality and difference.

DCC is a charity and company limited by guarantee. It is an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such adheres to the BACP Ethical framework.

The centre is open Monday to Thursday 9am to 8.30 pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.
